NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck on Interstate 40 Saturday afternoon.
An unidentified driver died Saturday, September 13, 2025, after a rollover crash about 12:10pm on westbound I-40 about two miles after Hector Road exit in Newberry Spring, according to the CHP Traffic log.
A white Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on I-40, seen driving reckless before losing control. The driver left the roadway rolled the vehicle multiple times in a ravine upside down.
Recuse crews arrived to find the driver partially ejected from the driver-side window of the truck.
The driver of the truck was pronounced deceased at the scene.
