VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Chances are, you’ve driven distracted and have seen others do the same. California Highway Patrol are increasing patrols during the month of September to combat distracted driving.
CHP Victorville Office said, let’s make a clever joke about driving SMART and not distracted. Get it, cause it’s a Smart Car…get it? We’ll see ourselves out.
In all seriousness, distracted driving is a significant factor in way too many crashes up here in the High Desert.
Every one of those crashes is preventable and we know you’ve all seen them. Put the phone away and slow down.
There are different distractions, like taking your hands off the wheel, you know, fiddling with the radio, grabbing something, visual distractions like looking at a crash, or just looking at your phone.
Just by taking your eyes off the road one second can lead to a crash.
The Pain In The Pass Facebook Group are grateful that increased patrols will lead to safer roads.
