CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Rainy weather in the morning and afternoon in Southern California led to flooded streets and slick roads, creating traffic headaches for drivers.
Weather Meteorologist said, parts of Cajon Pass and North San Bernardino/Devore received over a inch and a half of rain in about 6 hours. according to radar estimates.
That rain caught many people off-guard and caused major issues for drivers on Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass.
The first heavy rain fall of the season. With lack of rain through the whole summer the oils and fluids come up with the wet weather, making the road slick and traction elusive.
One bad crash was on north I-15 freeway in the Cajon Pass with one person was killed.
There were more minor collisions and spinouts to report, all had at least minor to no injuries in all the incidents. Southbound I-15 was temporary closed for the cleanup of a eight vehicles crash just after Kenwood Avenue in the Cajon Pass.
Slow down and drive according to the weather conditions. This is especially important in the Cajon Pass and on Interstate 15 where drivers can find themselves losing control very quickly if they don’t slow down.
