BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pedestrian was killed on Interstate 40 in Barstow Wednesday night when the person was hit by a semi-truck while laying down on the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident happened at around 9:14pm on December 31, 2025 on eastbound I-40 near the Montara Road and E Main Street exits for reports of a pedestrian who had been hit.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The semi driver sustained no injuries.
