LAKE ARROWHWEAD, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> CAL FIRE, in partnership with San Manuel Fire Department, will be conducting planned pile burn operations in the Hubert Eaton area off Highway 18 / Heaps Peak Helibase Road this week.
Crews plan to burn multiple piles near Lake Arrowhead on Monday March 2 -Friday beginning at 9am if weather permits.
What to Expect:
– Visible smoke in surrounding mountain communities, including areas near Crestline, Cedar Glen, and along Highway 138
– Increased fire apparatus and personnel in the area
-Temporary smoke impacts during active ignition periods
All operations are conducted under strict environmental and safety guidelines. Weather conditions will be continuously monitored, and operations may be adjusted as needed.
This is a planned and permitted fuels reduction project aimed at reducing hazardous vegetation and increasing wildfire resilience in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Please do not report this planned smoke as a wildfire. Crews will remain on scene throughout the day and night as the fire continues to smolder and show and smell smoke in the air.
