ADELANTO, CA. (Pain in The Pass) >> Officials have confirmed that 8 teenagers were in a car that rolled over at high speeds and killed a 16-year-old teenager. All the teenagers were riding in a sedan that had just five seats.
The crash happened at approximately 2:37am on Sunday, June 7, 2026. Emergency personnel from the Adelanto Sheriff’s Station, San Bernardino County Fire, and American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle traffic collision near the intersection of Rancho Road and Lilac Road, in the City of Adelanto.
It was determined a Dodge Charger sedan drove eastbound on Rancho Road at an excessive speed with eight occupants inside the sedan. The driver lost control of the vehicle near the intersection of Rancho Road and Lilac Road. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over multiple times landed onto its side.
At least one occupant was ejected from the vehicle, six occupants were transported to a nearby hospital for a range of injuries and one with minor injuries. A 16-year-old occupant succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s officials has identified the 16-year-old boy as Robert Castro, from Victorville. Authorities had previously described him as 17 years old.
Investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Regional Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) arrived and assumed the investigation. The road was closed for approximately six hours while investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
