ADELANTO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A 71-year-old woman was killed in a head-on crash after a semi tractor-trailer driver lost control and drifted into oncoming traffic Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews were called to a head-on collision on Highway 18/Palmdale Road, east of Richardson Street in the city of Adelanto, at 7:33am on August 17, 2026.
Through investigation, deputies learned the semi-truck driver a 60-year-old man, who was traveling eastbound, lost control and swerved into the westbound lane, colliding with a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
The driver of the Chevy Silverado was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is seeking assistance from anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
