LUDLOW/BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department assisted Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Police (BNSF Police) with an investigation into a suspected train boxcar burglary resulting in the recovery of more than $123,000 worth of Brooks Running Shoes.
BNSF Police requested assistance after a train made an emergency stop in the Ludlow area and three vehicles were observed near the train under suspicious circumstances. The location was near National Trails Highway, Daggett, and Ludlow.
While enroute to Ludlow, deputies observed two abandoned vehicles matching the description of the suspect vehicles. Deputies inspected the vans, discovering numerous boxes inside each of them. Upon examination, BNSF Police confirmed the boxes contained were from the boxcar.
