LUCERNE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pedestrian was struck and killed on Highway 18 Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers and San Bernardino County Fire were called to Highway 138 Tradepost Road at a 6:44pm on September 24, 2026, following reports of a pedestrian who was hit by a white Ford SUV vehicle.
CHP traffic log said, that the pedestrian was eventually struck on the shoulder of the highway after entering the path of a white vehicle.
Westbound highway was closed for some time, while investigators processed the scene and waiting for the coroner.
Authorities said the driver remained at the scene. CHP also said drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
The identity of the pedestrian has not yet been released.
