CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Highway Patrol will hold a 12-hour Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) to deter impaired driving from 6pm on Friday, October 2, to 6am on Saturday, October 3.
All uniformed officers will participate in the enforcement period.
During the MEP, officers will increase their presence on California roads and focus on identifying and stopping impaired drivers.
“One impaired driver can change or end a life in an instant,” said in the release. “To help prevent these tragedies, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is mobilizing uniformed personnel statewide for a targeted enforcement effort to keep impaired drivers off California roads.”
Drivers are asked to plan ahead, arrange a sober ride and never get behind the wheel while impaired.
If you see a suspected drunk driver, call 911. Provide as much information as possible, including the vehicle’s color, make, model, license plate number, land marks and direction of travel.
