SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> This past weekend, all available California Highway Patrol personnel focused on one simple goal getting impaired drivers off the road.
During the 12-hour Maximum Enforcement Period Saturday night into Sunday morning, CHP officers arrested 505 DUI drivers who chose to get behind the wheel while impaired.
This Weekend Results:
- 505 DUI Arrests
- 8,297 Enforcement Actions
- 4,604 Total Citations
- 75 Drivers Over 100 mph
This weekend was a reminder to always designate a sober driver. Choose to protect yourself and those around you and remember that a DUI costs way more than opting for a rideshare or taxi.
Thank you to everyone who made safety a priority this weekend.
Let’s continue working together to keep California roads safe.
We urged to avoid becoming a statistic by always wearing your seatbelt, drive the post speed limit and never get behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
