Dodge Ram is Recalling 1.2 Million 1500 Pickups Over Seatbelt Buckle Issue

DETROIT, MI. ( Pain In The Pass) >> Dodge Ram parent company, Stellantis Automotive Manufacturing Corporation said, it’s recalling a little over 1.2 million 2019-2026 1500 model pickup trucks an issue with the second-row seatbelts.

The announcement says certain trucks may have been built with a second-row center and/or second-row driver side seatbelt buckle anchor that was not properly attached to the vehicle body structure. In the event of a crash, the issue might affect the seatbelt’s performance, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

The recall also impacts 156,138 Rams sold in Canada and 15,088 sold in Mexico.

The announcement says certain trucks may have been built with a second-row center and/or second-row driver side seatbelt buckle anchor that was not properly attached to the vehicle body structure. In the event of a crash, the issue might affect the seatbelt’s performance, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

Dodge is aware of one injury potentially related to the issue.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified to contact their local dealer to schedule an inspection appointment. At that appointment, the second-row center and second-row driver seat belt buckle anchor will be inspected. Replacements will be made as necessary at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Dodge did not say when affected owners will be notified or when the fix will be ready.
