An motorhome engine caught on fire and a box trailer being pulled was also engulfed in flames, causing southbound lanes to close at one point. California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, CAL FIRE, and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were getting calls of a vehicle on fire about 12:39pm on January 20, 2024. The incident was on southbound I-15 just after the truck escape ramp.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene to work on getting the vehicle fire put out. They had to temporary shut down all but the fast lane. As of 2pm the right right lanes are blocked due to the cleanup and the removal of the motorhome.

Everybody did escape the motorhome before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
