HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) – San Bernardino County Fire Department were gettting calls about a brush fire around 3:30pm in the city of Hesperia on Mariposa Road between Joshua Street and Main Street.

According to San Bernardino County Fire, the Fire is spreading quickly due to high gusty winds. Firefighters estimated that at least 3-5 acres are burning.

Mariposa Rd parallel the northbound 15 freeway, the freeway was not closed during the fire fight. Drivers just slowed traffic to catch a glimpse of the fire.

A brush fire prompted a second-alarm and immediate evacuations and is posing an immediate threat to a nearby San Joaquin Valley College this Thursday afternoon.

After a hour SB County Fire were making good progress and have cancel the evacuations.

Forward rate of spread has been stopped with lines around the fire. Crews will be around to mop-up for next few hours.

No injuries were reported.

Mariposa Rd will remain closed to support fire operations.

Update the final size was 39.5 acres.
