LUDLOW, CA (Pain in the Pass) >> One lane of the westbound I-40 freeway was shut down after at least one person was killed in a accident Monday morning.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from Barstow Fire Department responded to the traffic accident on Monday, at about 11am on the I-40 freeway, west of the Ludlow off-ramp.

From the CHP log a white Ford Explorer lost control and crash into the back of a big rig semi trailer.

The impact caused the vehicle to over turn in the dirt center median.

One person was deceased at the scene, don’t known if they were the driver or the passager. The second person had minor injuries.

They open the lane back up after 4 hours.

CHP said additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
