HALLORAN SPRINGS, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> A fiery crash Sunday morning on the northbound side of Interstate 15 near the Halloran Spring Road on ramp involving two big rigs semi. The fire sent a plume of black smoke into the desert air that you could see for miles. Halloran Springs is an unincorporated community in San Bernardino County.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic accident. The crash which occurred around 11:47 am., destroyed one big rig truck and two trailers. This brought northbound lanes to a standstill for hours, CHP said

Officials said the one was hauling cases of water and the other one was burn to the ground may have been empty.

Two patients were transported to St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Siena Campus in Henderson, NV both with minor injury. Unknown if they were in the big rig that rear ended the trailer.

The SBCFD Fire Department from the town of Baker extinguished the big rig fire and the nearby brush.

By 3pm., Caltrans hazmat crew arrived to assist in the clean up.

4pm traffic is back up over 15 miles and over 2 hours delay. Only one out of three lanes are open.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.

CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
