HESPERIA, CA. (Pain in the Pass) >> A fatal traffic collision happened in the intersection of Main Street and Mariposa Road.

San Bernardino County Sheriffs and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic accident. The crash happened Saturday night just after 8pm on October 12th.

According to multiple witnesses, the driver of black BMW was traveling westbound on Main Street going toward the 15 freeway at a high rate of speed, ran the red light, and t-boned the Honda Accord as it crossed through the intersection.

The male driver of the Honda succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the BMW was airlifted with life threatening injuries to Loma Linda University Medical Center

The westbound lanes of Main Street were closed from Mountain Vista Avenue to the I-15 northbound on-ramp until approximately 2:30 am on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

The Sheriffs Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating to determine who caused the crash and to see if the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Update the driver of the BMW was a male name Ramses Gonzales, of Rialto The man that lost his life was Marcellino Cabrera, III, age 46 a resident of Hesperia
