FONTANA, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> A older Ford F-150 caught fire on the northbound side of I-15 Freeway in Fontana Tuesday afternoon October 29, at 3:14am sending a plume of black smoke into the valley air.

The pickup truck fire was located on northbound 15 about 1/2 mile before Sierra Avenue off ramp.  San Bernardino County Fire Department responding to the fire on the shoulder of the freeway.

When California Highway Patrol and Fire Department arrived the flames engulfing the pick up truck. Firefighters extinguish the fire before it reach the nearby brush that was on the shoulder of the freeway.

CHP and firefighters were on the scene and had to shut down the
slow lane while they work on getting the vehicle fire out.

The fire appeared to be started in the engine compartment,
California Highway Patrol said.

No injuries were reported in the fire. The driver and passenger were able to get out safely. (Cymbalta)

Traffic was backup to the 210 freeway.
