RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> A fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a big rig has shut down all southbound Interstate 15 just before 4th Street in Rancho Cucamonga.

The crash occurred on the southbound side of the freeway near 4th Street on and off ramps at 11:34pm. Monday February 10, 2020.

California Highway Patrol and Rancho Cucagmonga Fire Department responded to the incident. They saw a motorcycle and a big rig had collided sending the big rig into the center divider. The motorcycle caught fire under the big rig. Minutes later sending the cab of the big rig up in flames.

Fire Department declared one person deceased at the scene.

The accident caused fuel to leak in the storm drains, Caltrans will be out to clean up.

The identity of the victim was not known

Traffic was being diverted at Foothill Boulevard.

As of 3am CHP and Caltrans opened up the #3 and #4 lanes.

Update at 4am the #2 lane is back open.

The fast lane is still closed, and it was not immediately clear when all lanes will reopen.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.

CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
