CAJON PASS, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> Sheriffs Helicopter Air Rescue 307 conducted a hoist rescue of an injured motorcycle rider at Cleghorn Ridge area about 2 miles from Interstate 15 freeway in the Cajon Pass.

On Sunday, May 10, 2020, at approximately 10:20am., dirt bike rider Tanner Paxton was riding his motorcycle on a fire road in the Cleghorn Ridge area of the Cajon Pass when he lost control and crashed. Paxton sustained a serious injury and was unable to walk. Another off roader came upon Paxton and called 911 for help.  
 
California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments all were called to the scene. CHP and County Fire could not make it to the scene so they called in for a Sheriff’s Helicopter, 40-King-4 responded to the area and located Paxton. The crew determined a hoist rescue would be necessary due to the location and terrain. The crew requested Sheriff’s Helicopter Air Rescue 307 to conduct a hoist rescue.
 
Air Rescue 307 arrived on-scene, hovered above Paxton and lowered two medics followed by a rescue basket. The medics placed Paxton into the rescue basket and hoisted him up to the helicopter. After Paxton was secured in the helicopter the two medics were then hoisted up to the helicopter.

Paxton was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
