CAJON PASS, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> A vehicle pulling a trailer caught fire on Northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass just after the Cleghorn Road on ramp.

California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Fire Department, Cal Fire and United States Forest Service responded to a vehicle fire and nearby brush fire.

Firefighters responded to a black Toyota 4Runner SUV pulling a small flatbed trailer on fire at 2:45pm Sunday May 10, 2020. It was on the on ramp of Cleghorn Road shoulder. The flames quickly reached the nearby brush that was on the shoulder of the freeway.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to shut down the slow lane while they worked on getting the vehicle fire and the brush fire put out. Also Cleghorn Rd. on ramp will be closed for the mop-up and for the vehicle removal.

Forward rate of spread has been stopped at 3pm with lines around the fire at around a 10×20 foot spot. Fire crews will be around to mop-up for next few hours.

Everybody did get out of the vehicle.

No injuries were reported at the scene and the cause of the vehicle fire is unknown.
