HECTOR, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A multiple vehicle roll-over on eastbound Interstate 40 left one person seriously injured.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department received calls of a multiple vehicle roll-over about 5 mile after Hector Road. in the town of Hector.

The accident happen at 1:09pm on August 28, 2020, Friday afternoon.

The vehicles that rolled over were a Red Chevrolet SUV unknown model and a big yellow Penske moving box truck pulling a sliver Jeep Wrangler on a open trailer. Debris was scattered in the center divider and in the fast lane from the Penske box truck. The box truck was fully loaded with moving furniture.

When CHP and firefighters responded to the scene there were people trapped inside both vehicles. Firefighters did request one medical helicopter to transport one person with serious injuries from the Penske truck.

A medical helicopter Mercy Air 66 landed on eastbound Interstate 40 lanes. The Mercy Air helicopter airlifted the patient to Loma Lina Medical Center in serious condition.

CHP stopped traffic on the eastbound side of the Interstate for about 30 minutes for the medical helicopter to land and to take off.

Multiple ambulances were called to the scene at this time its unknown how many injuries and were transported to a hospital.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.

CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
