CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Round two of three storms going to hit late Sunday night into Monday with good chances of snow level will drop to about 2,000 feet.

The Southern California Weather Force Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning issue Sunday night January 24, 2021 and Monday. Map below are the project images from the SCWF models of snow fall Monday.

If you need to drive up or down the pass Monday morning, I would say just say home it’s not worth it. There is no job worth your life, being at home will be the safest place to be. The storm should move out in the afternoon. The evening commute should be good, just scattered showers in the afternoon. The bulk timing of this storm is around 10pm Sunday to 5am Monday.

CHP and Caltrans will try to keep the Cajon Pass lanes free of snow, but if the weather turns bad they will close the freeway down. CHP also says make sure you have a full tank of gas if you are coming up or down the Cajon Pass in bad weather.

The 2nd storm will be the coldest storm with rain and snow on Sunday night and Monday with mainly snow impacting the Cajon Pass and Highway 138. Rain total will be 1/2 to a inch for the IE valley. The Cajon Pass the snow level will drop to 2,000 feet level that about where Highway 138 exit is. Wrightwood may see 10 to 16+ inches of snow. High Deserts will get gusty winds with rain/snow showers. Chance of thunderstorms. See map below.

The 3rd storm will be a warmer storm with heavy moisture shaping up to be a big rain event for Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday morning. Heavy rain in the IE valley will be 1 to 5 inches of rain. Cajon Pass may see a dusting of snow and Wrightwood may see 8 to 12 inches of snow. High Deserts will get gusty winds with rain shower that can be heavy at time. See map below.

Southern California Weather Force has a new 1-800 number.  You now can listen to the latest forecast and current or upcoming weather events.
