CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A driver rear-ended a SUV, left the scene and caused damage to two more vehicles this Friday afternoon northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass.

At about 2:50pm California Highway Patrol were getting calls of a white Toyota mini-van speeding and driving in the emergency lane. The crash happen January 29, 2021 Friday afternoon. At that time, the white mini-van rear-ended a gray Lexus SUV. This crash was located around Kenwood Avenue. The mini-van took off with the SUV chasing.

Just about 2 miles before Cleghorn the white mini-van lost control and crashed into two more unknown vehicles. This crash disabled the van in the #2 and #3 lane.

When CHP and firefighters responded to the scene, They requested medical attention for the driver of the van. The person was transported to a local hospital in unknown conditions.

CHP investigators have not yet determined what caused the crash besides speeding/reckless driving. There are reports that the driver was impaired by alcohol or drugs and or may have experiencing some sort of medical issue.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
