EASTVALE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A sea of tumbleweeds blew over onto Interstate 15 blocking lanes for about a hour on Sunday morning.
Several people called California Highway Patrol about 7:50am Sunday, February 28, 2021. They were reporting strong gusty Santa Ana winds blowing dust and hundreds of tumbleweeds into a portion of a Interstate 15. It happened at the Bellegrave Avenue overpass located between the 60 freeway and Limenite Ave in the city of Eastvale.
The piles of tumbleweeds were reported as high as 8 to 12 feet in some places.
CHP and Caltrans moved the tumbleweeds out of the way.
