CAJON PASS, Ca. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person suffered serious injuries when their vehicle went down an embankment off the side of Interstate 15 at the top of the Cajon Pass Tuesday evening.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of a crash. It was reported on southbound Interstate 15 from the Brake Check Area. The crash happened at about 5:46pm Tuesday on March 30, 2021.
The vehicle involved in the crash was reported as a sliver Honda 2 door Accord. On arrival, firefighters located the Honda with heavy damage after rolling over down the embankment. The driver was ejected from the vehicle and pinned underneath. About a dozen of Good Samaritans help free the driver before to medical personal were on scene.
Firefighters rendered aid to the driver. Then they requested a helicopter to transport the injured driver. The driver had unspecified injuries and was transported by Mercy Air # 22 from the scene to Loma Linda University Medical Hospital.
The CHP traffic log indicated the vehicle went down the embankment at least 100 feet from the freeway.
