CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A car caught fire on northbound Interstate 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass Wednesday morning.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department were getting calls of a vehicle on fire on the right shoulder about a mile and a half after Highway 138 exit. The car fire was reported about 10:53am Wednesday May 5, 2021 with flames coming from the engine compartment.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the slow lane, while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out. CHP issued the slow lane closed for about a half a hour due to the clean up and removal of the car. The vehicle was reported to be a gold/brown Honda Accord sedan.

Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
