BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A vehicle caught fire in the center divider of northbound Interstate 15 in Barstow Thursday evening, sending a plume of smoke over the desert.

California Highway Patrol were getting calls of a vehicle on fire on the center divider before Hodge Road exit. The car fire was reported about 7:13pm Thursday May 6, 2021 with flames coming from the engine compartment.

California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the fast lane, while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out. The vehicle was reported to be a gold/ Toyota Camry sedan.

Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
