PINON HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Firefighters are battling a brush fire burning in the foothills Wednesday near the San Bernardino/Los Angeles County line, on the outskirts of Pinon Hills and Llano.

The fire was discovered at about 1:32pm. off of the highway near Pineview Road and Jubilee Rd..  Multiple structures are reported to be in immediate danger.  The fire has led to the closure of some side roads in the area. Highway 138 is open and leading to traffic backup in the area.

As of 3pm the fire has moved into the town of Llano is now estimated at 140+ acres; one trailer and a house has burned, multiple structures homes are threatened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, The brush fire dubbed the Pine Fire. Check back for updates on this fire.

Update at 4pm the fire is holding at approximately 165-170 acres, still have 15-20mph winds out of the south. Evacuation area expanded to: East of Jubilee Rd. West of Mountain Rd. South of Hwy 138 North of Tamarack Rd.

Highway 138 is CLOSED at Oasis to 263rd St. 

5pm update the fire is now 170 acres, 0% containment but making good progress on the fire.

7pm reporting the forward progress has been stopped at 180 acres, 10% containment. Hwy 138 is still closed

Still a lot of embers visible, but we couldn’t see any actual flames at 9pm. Hwy 138 still closed and may reopen around 10pm.

Update at 10:30pm the fire burned two homes and scorched some 450-acres, according to officials. Hwy 138 reopened.
