CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A big rig rear-end a disabled SUV that was in the middle lane on northbound Interstate 15 just after Highway 138 exit leaving two people injured.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department received calls of crash about 6:37pm Wednesday June 9, 2021. It occurred northbound Interstate 15 just after Hwy 138 exit. The vehicles involved in the crash were reported to be a white Chevrolet Tahoe and a big rig car hauler with five vehicles on the trailer.
For reasons still under investigation the Tahoe became disable in the #3 lane, seconds later a big rig struck the rear-end of the Tahoe with two people and three dog inside the vehicle. The driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. The big rig driver was able to exit the cab with no injuries.
CHP issued a Sig Alert for the #3, #4, and #5 lanes for about an hour and a half. Traffic was reported to be backedup all the way down to Glen Helen Parkway.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
