APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was air lifted after a car rear-ends a semi tractor trailer Saturday morning on Interstate 15, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP and Apple Valley Fire Department received calls of a blue Hyundai Accent sedan in the back of a semi trailer just before Dale Evens Parkway on northbound Interstate 15 Saturday June 12, 2021.
Firefighters had to extricate the driver from the vehicle. They also called for a medical helicopter to land at the crash scene. Mercy Air 2 landed on the northbound 15 freeway. Northbound lanes were temporarily blocked for over 30 minutes for the helicopter.
Mercy Air transported the driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center with major injuries reported. The driver of the semi was not hurt. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
