Firefighters Tackle Rubbish Fire In The Cajon Pass Friday Evening

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A small rubbish fire broke out in the Cajon Pass Friday evening.

San Bernardino National Forest Service Firefighters and San Bernardino County Fire Department were getting calls of a small brush fire in the Cajon Pass Wash near Cajon Boulevard and Kenwood Avenue. This fire was reported about 6:36pm Friday, August 6, 2021. Forest Service firefighters were quickly were on scene and extinguish the flames in minutes. The fire was stopped and the size was under a 10 by 10 foot section burned.

Forest Service investigators determined the fire was caused by someone burning rubber coating off wires in order to obtain copper. The suspect or suspects ran from the scene.
