CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Drivers heading down the Cajon Pass on their Tuesday morning commute were delayed by a multi-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 15 that caused a 10 mile traffic jam at one point.
California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department were getting calls of a multi-vehicle crash. The CHP traffic log reported a total of 5 vehicles and one big rig 18 wheeler were involved and needed to be towed. The crash was located just about a mile before the Highway 138 exit blocking the fast lane and the #2 lane. This all happened at about 7:18am on August 10, 2021. CHP issued a SIG Alert for the 2 left lanes for about 3 hours due to the cleanup of debris and removal of the vehicles. The semi dumped some fuel onto the traffic lanes.
One female adult was injured and was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital for minor injuries. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
