DEVORE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A silver four-door sedan slammed into the back of a semi-trailer. The car ended up underneath the trailer.
California Highway Patrol and members of the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene about 1:41am. on September 11, 2021. A silver Toyota Prius rear-ended a semi tractor-trailer near the Devore Road exit on southbound Interstate 215.
From the CHP traffic log stated, the semi was traveling in the slow lane on southbound I-215 after Devore Road exit when the Toyota rear-ended the semi tractor-trailer. The driver of the Toyota sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the semi was not injured.
CHP closed the freeway at 2am as they investigated the crash and to remove the vehicle from the trailer. At 3am CHP open the #1 lane and still had the #2 lane blocked. Special equipment was used to help pull the vehicle from beneath the semi.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
