CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A man who suffered major injuries was rescued after his SUV plunged off a cliff off of southbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Tuesday afternoon.
CHP officers and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department and San Bernardino National Forest Service responded to the traffic accident. The accident was reported at about 3:22pm, Tuesday September 14, 2021. A white Toyota Rav4 SUV lost control, hit the guardrail on the right shoulder of Southbound Interstate 15 between Cleghorn Road and Kenwood Avenue exit. It was reported to be a single vehicle crash and it went down the cliff, rolled over multiple times. The white Toyota landed on it’s roof next to Cajon Boulevard old Route 66.
From what a witness stated the driver was in the back seat upside down in the Toyota. He had cuts and bruises to his knee with minimal bleeding. He was in and out of consciousness before recuse personal arrived at the scene. The driver was transported by ground ambulance to a Loma Linda University Medical Center in unknown condition.
This is the same spot as 3 weeks ago, where another driver flew off the freeway, rolled over multiple times and was injured.
