PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> For about three weeks Beekley Road will be closed at Highway 138 due to roadwork for the new gas station on the corner.
If you take Beekley Rd. to bypass traffic you will have to find a different route starting Monday October 25 through Friday November 19, 2021* The closure will be in place at Nielson Road to Hwy 138.
According to the San Bernardino County Department of Public Works, the roadwork is required as part of the new gas station construction at the corner of Hwy 138 and Beekley Rd. The roadwork may only take two weeks to complete. However, project planners have order a extra week for weather issues or construction delays*.
During the closure the only alternate route to get in the town of Phelan is use Sheep Creek Road and to leave Phelan to get on Highway 138 or Wrightwood, is to take Phelan Rd all the way to Hwy 138 and expect delays on this detour. Some drivers will attempt to navigate the dirt roads to try and find a shortcut, a heads up most of these dirt roads don’t connect with the Highway 138.
Expect delays during peak commute times on Phelan Road.
