CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was injured during a chaotic scene in the Cajon Pass Saturday evening when a traffic crash occurred on southbound Interstate 15 at Cleghorn Road.
California Highway Patrol said, the initial crash happened when a dark gray Dodge Ram dually pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed in the center divider and collided into two to three vehicles at about 5:35pm October 23, 2021, at Cleghorn Rd.
Following the collisions, from reports on the CHP traffic log, the driver of the Dodge fled the scene. Witnesses were able to describe the suspects to an officer. Described as a black-male-adult last seen wearing a plaid blue shirt and brown pants going down the offramp. CHP was able to apprehend him and he was taken into police custody shortly thereafter.
The other two vehicles involved in the crash were a white Audi Q series SUV with heavy rear damage and a unknown vehicle. The driver of the Audi was transported by ground ambulance to local hospital, with a broken arm. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol San Bernardino Office. Additional details were limited.
