CRESTLINE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Semi become stuck on a hairpin turn on Highway 138 Monday morning.
The California Highway Patrol said Highway 138 was blocked at Burnt Mill Road for over 2 hours. It’s a very sharp turn in this area and became stuck at 11:12pm Monday November 22, 2021.
Authorities with the California Highway Patrol says that there more and more truckers are ignoring signs and following their GPS on Highway 138. This is a mountain road/highway with tight hair-pin turns where a 53 foot semi become into trouble. Drivers used there GPS because of the Cajon Pass had major traffic jammed. GPS indicated there is a faster way down and they take it. The drivers didn’t see the signs and make traffic worse by becoming stuck. Since GPS have come into use, there’s a whole lot more semi coming across the mountains, and they can’t make it.
A heavy-duty wrecker was sent to tow the semi out of the sharp turn. At 1pm the semi was moved and the highway was reopened.
