RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway at the Milliken Avenue onramp were closed after two big rigs caught fire following a collision Friday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
Traffic was backed up several miles. The incident that occurred was at about 11:12am, Friday November 26, 2021, CHP said, it was first reported to be a disabled big rig blocking the slow lane at the end of the onramp. About ten minutes went by, when a maroon big rig and a tan Toyota Corolla sedan tangled up sending them both into the disabled big rig. The collision caused the maroon big rig to catch fire. This resulted into both big rig cabs to burn to the ground. It was unknown what both big rigs were hauling.
Two people involved were transported to a a local hospital with minor injuries.
The crash blocked all but one lane at the time of the crash and a SIG-alert was issued. All lanes were reopened by 10pm.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Rancho Cucamonga Office. CHP said additional information will be updated as it becomes available. Additional details were limited at this time.
