CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist who was killed Saturday night, after striking a vehicle on southbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass.
California Highway Patrol and members of the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene about 10pm on January 1, 2022. The traffic collision was on southbound Interstate 15, about 2 miles before the Highway 138 exit.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Treyshawn Williams, a 23-year-old resident of San Bernardino, was pronounced dead on scene at 10:34pm.
From reports Treyshawn was traveling at high speeds estimated at about 50 mph. The motorcyclist was going between vehicles in stop-and-go traffic that was caused by an earlier crash in the same area. This is when Treyshawn hit the back of a white Tesla Model X sedan. He was thrown off and landed in the fast lane and the #2 lane. Despite life saving measures, he was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency personnel. Nobody in the Tesla sustained any injuries. CHP temporarily closed all lanes for about an hour for an investigation. CHP reopened the two right lanes just after 11pm.
A GoFundMe account has since been set up for Treyshawn’s funeral expenses.
This incident will be under investigation by the CHP Inland Office. They said additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
