WRIGHTWOOD, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The town of Wrightwood and its surrounding hills make for enormous venues for playing in the snow. Particularly when it just dumps snow right before the holiday weekend. But it’s also causing headaches on mountain roads with first responders.
Video posted to Facebook by the Wrightwood Community Services District on Sunday shows a San Bernardino County fire engine on Highway 2 struggling to squeeze through stopped traffic and vehicles parked illegally.
The fire crew was trying to respond to an emergency call. “This is absolutely unacceptable. The blatant disregard of the ‘no parking’ zones puts residents & visitors at risk,” the SBFD caption said. He also said the first step is education. THIS is why it’s important to respect the ‘no parking’ zones signs.” Officials are reminding the public to follow parking rules and be mindful of “no parking” zones that carry a $150 fine if drivers are caught parking there”. This could also included a hefty tow fee if they tow your vehicle.
