VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In the Pass) >> A car crash into the back of a parked big rig, triggers a traffic mess on Interstate 15 for about an hour Monday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 2:11pm Monday January 10, 2022. The crash location was on southbound Interstate 15 just after the Stoddard Wells Road/Bell Mountain exit. California Highway Patrol and Apple Valley Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving two vehicles, a burgundy Hyundai Elantra and a big rig.
From reports the Hyundai that was occupied by a female driver and three children. They were traveling at an unknown high speed on southbound I-15. For reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control and crashed into the back of a parked big rig on the right shoulder with a flat tire.
The impact sent the car back into the middle of the traffic lanes with debris scattered across lanes. CHP stopped traffic for about an hour for an investigation. Firefighters rendered aid to the four people inside the Hyundai. Rescue crews requested two helicopters to transport two children with unknown injuries. They were both transported by CHP helicopter and Mercy Air #2 from the scene to Loma Linda University Medical Center. The third child was transported by ground ambulance to LLUMC. According to the CHP traffic log the female driver was detained at the scene.
