APPLE VALLEY, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 15 near the Wild Wash Road exit after a solo vehicle rollover crash Friday night that shut all northbound lanes of the freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened at about 8:27pm Friday January 21, 2022. The location was on northbound Interstate 15 just before Wild Wash Road exit. California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving a black BMW sedan.
According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic log, the BMW lost a tire at an unknown speed. Then the vehicle veered to the right and rolled-over multiple times off of the freeway. One person was reported to be ejected from the vehicle with the driver and a passenger still trapped.
Rescue crews requested two helicopters to transport both with critical injuries. Firefighters rendered aid to the three people involved in the crash and reported the driver deceased at the scene. One passenger was transported by Mercy Air #66 helicopter from the scene to Victor Valley Global Medical Center in critical condition and another person had minor injures. Update on the passenger transported to the hospital, later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
All northbound lanes were closed for about an hour and a half for the investigation and for the medical helicopter. A little after 10pm CHP opened the two left lanes.
