VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A big-rig driver has serious injuries after his truck went off southbound Interstate 15 and into some trees Sunday morning in the city of Victorville, California Highway Patrol officials said.
The crash was reported at about 9:19am Sunday January 23, 2022. Located on southbound I-15 just before the Mojave Drive off ramp. California Highway Patrol and Victorville Fire Department responded to the crash.
CHP stated that the driver was reportedly trapped inside cab of the truck. Firefighters were trying to extricate the driver, after about 45 minutes they were able to free the driver from the cab. Firefighters requested a medical helicopter to transport the driver to a local trauma center. Mercy Air 22 landed on the freeway to transport the driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center in unknown condition.
For reasons still under investigation the big rig veered to the right, rolled on it’s side into a set of trees on the shoulder of the freeway. No further details have been provided at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Office. Please check for updates on this incident.
