OAK HILLS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The driver of a gray SUV was injured after slamming into the back of a big rig tractor-trailer that was traveling on Interstate 15 under the Oak Hill Road bridge, CHP officials said.
The crash happened at about 7:12pm Friday February 18, 2022. The location of the collision was on northbound Interstate 15 just after the Oak Hill Rd exit. California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving two vehicles, a gray Infiniti QX56 SUV and a big rig tractor-trailer.
The gray Infiniti was reported to be speeding prior to the collision. The Infiniti hit the back of the semi trailer and was dragged until the big stopped on the shoulder of the freeway. Only the driver was inside the Infiniti. Firefighters were able to help free the driver to get out of the vehicle. The driver was transported by ground ambulance, in unknown condition, to a nearby hospital.
The big rig driver was not injured. CHP had to close the slow lane for some time for the removal of the SUV from the trailer out of lanes.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time.
