VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A person was killed in a possible road rage shooting on northbound Interstate 15 in the city of Victorville Thursday night, according to California Highway Patrol.
It happened on February 24, 2022, at approximately 7:46pm. A possible road rage incident that occurred on northbound I-15, south of Nisqualli/La Mesa Road. The incident involved the driver of a black GMC SUV, and an unidentified driver in an unidentified sedan. As both vehicles approached Nisqualli Rd., both drivers exited the main line of the freeway and stopped on the right shoulder of the Nisqualli Rd. offramp.
The driver of the GMC, a Hispanic male adult, exited his vehicle. The adult male driver of the sedan also exited his vehicle at which point he fired multiple gun shots at the driver of the GMC. The driver of the GMC was struck by the gun fire and subsequently sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the sedan reentered his vehicle and fled the scene on the Nisqualli Rd. offramp and continued in an unknown direction.
The identity of the deceased man is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
All northbound lanes of the I-15 were temporarily shut down for about two hours for the investigation. They opened the left lane, then the two other lanes had reopened by 1am Friday morning.
