CRESTLINE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A big rig become stuck on a hairpin turn and a pickup truck became stuck in a different spot on Highway 138 Friday evening.

The California Highway Patrol said Highway 138 was blocked by Burnt Mill Road for over 4 hours to move the big rig. It’s a very sharp turn in this area and became stuck at 5:36pm Friday April 15, 2022. The pickup lost control and crash at about 6:14pm near Old Mills Rd.

No injures were reported in both directions.

Authorities with the California Highway Patrol says that there more and more truckers are ignoring signs and following their GPS on Highway 138. This is a mountain road/highway with tight hair-pin turns where a 53 foot semi become into trouble. Drivers used there GPS because of the Cajon Pass had a major traffic jam. GPS indicated there is a faster way down and they take it. The big rig drivers didn’t see the signs and make traffic worse by becoming stuck. Since GPS have come into use, there’s a whole lot more big rigs/semi coming across the mountains, and they can’t make it, CHP said.
