STATELINE, CA (April 18, 2022) – One person died in a multi-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 15 near Stateline Monday morning.
The accident happened at about 5:52am on April 18, 2022. Just after Yates Well Road of southbound I-15. According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log, the vehicles involved were a gray Honda Civic, and two other unknown vehicles that crashed for unknown reasons.
California Highway Patrol with firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department and Clark County Fire Department responded to the crash scene. From the CHP traffic log, a total of four people were trapped.
Firefighters rendered aid to the people involved in the crash and reported one person deceased at the scene. The other people were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
Just after 6am, traffic on southbound 15 Freeway was stopped due to the crash scene and debris all over the lanes. Traffic lanes were congested all the way before Primm Nevada with commuters headed out from Las Vegas. At 7am one lane was open and by 10:38am all lanes were back open.
A witness also stated the driver of the Honda made a U-turn at the inspection station and was traveling northbound in southbound lanes.
CHP have not released a cause of the crash and did not identify the victim at this time besides it was a resident of Petaluma California. No further details have been provided at this time.
