CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The 2022 Redlands Bicycle Classic is excited to announce that this year’s race will feature the Route 66 Individual Time Trial run on Friday, April 22, 2022, in the county a of San Bernardino.

We would like to thank all of the residents and businesses along the course for their assistance and patience, as we bring you one of the premier cycling events in the country. The Route 66 stage is a “time trial” race, which means the cyclists will be completing an “out and back” course. Riders will start individually, at incremental times, and race against the clock for the fastest time. This will give you an opportunity to see them up close and cheer them on as they pass by your location.

Spectators may walk along the outside of the course, however, please be sure to stay off the course itself. The riders will be exceeding 40 MPH at times, and we want to ensure your safety, as well as the safety of the riders. With safety as our top primary concern, there will be some local street closures in place throughout the day.

8am-4pm Cajon Boulevard will be closed in both directions between Cleghorn Road and Kenwood Avenue.

If you anticipate leaving your business or residence during race time, please understand that there may be a delay, as our marshals must wait until there are no cyclists approaching before they allow you on the course. At that time, you will be allowed onto the course, but only in the direction of the race, and you will be required to exit the course as soon as practical. There will be gaps between each rider, which should provide adequate time for you to enter/exit your residence or business.

Refer to the attached map for additional details. If you are having difficulty getting to a specific location, contact one of our marshals or a law enforcement official. Our marshals will be strategically placed throughout the course to assist you in getting where you need to go. If you need to leave a residence on the course while the race is in progress, it is imperative that you seek assistance from a marshal before exiting. If possible, please park your vehicle on a street off of the course ahead of time.
