CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A SUV caught fire on northbound Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass Sunday afternoon.
California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire Department were getting calls of a white Lexus RX 300 SUV on fire. The vehicle was located at the end of Kenwood Avenue off ramp. The vehicle fire happened on Sunday about 12:11pm April 24, 2022. California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the slow lane while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out.
Traffic backup quickly and firefighters had the fire out in about 10 minutes. The driver did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
